HOW TO TRAVEL

Antwerp is centrally located in Europe and easily accessible by plane, train, bus or car.
- By Air (Flights)
- Brussels Airport (BRU): Located 42 km from Antwerp, it’s the main international airport. You can take a direct train from Brussels Airport to Antwerp (about 30-40 minutes).
- Charleroi Airport (CRL): A bit farther away, around 60 km but offers budget flights. From Charleroi, you can take a shuttle bus or a train to Antwerp.
- By Train
Trains arrive at the central station (Antwerpen-Centraal or Gare Centrale d’Anvers) is located in the heart of the city. It is one of the most beautiful train stations in the world and is also called “a cathedral” due to its astonishing architecture.
Antwerp is well-connected by train to many cities in Belgium and Europe, like
- From Brussels in 30 minutes
- From Paris Gare du Nord to Antwerp Central in about 2 hours.
- From Amsterdam, Netherlands: Intercity trains around 1.5 hours.
- From other European cities: Trains from Germany, the UK, or neighboring countries can also reach Antwerp, with connections via major European hubs.
- By Car to Antwerp
- From Brussels to Antwerp in under an hour
- From Amsterdam around 2.5 hours.
- From Paris around 3,5 to 4 hours.
- By Bus
If you’re on a budget, several bus companies like FlixBus, Eurolines, and BlaBlaBus offer routes to Antwerp from other European cities. Travel times can vary but typically take longer than trains.
